# Alerts that tell you when something major happens

Nobody wants to watch charts all day. Most days nothing important happens to what you own. The days something does are the ones you don't want to miss.

## AI alerts

Sonar watches every asset you hold for things that stand out: an unusual price move, a spike in social activity, a jump in onchain activity, or a big story. When something major happens, you get an email and a note in the bell at the top of the app, with what changed and over what window.

AI alerts pick out what's actually unusual for each asset, so a normal day for a volatile coin doesn't fill your inbox. You can mute any asset, or pause everything, in one click.

*An AI alert fires when a move leaves the asset's usual range (shaded band). A custom alert fires when the price crosses a level you set (dashed line).*
## Custom alerts

Set your own levels on any holding: a price above or below a number, a change over 24 hours, or a shift in social mentions or sentiment. Starter includes 20 active alerts; Standard includes 100.

## Every alert reports, none advise

An alert says what happened: "ETH is down 6.2% over 24 hours while mentions are up 41%." It doesn't tell you what to do about it.

## Ask about it in Claude or ChatGPT

When an alert lands, ask your assistant for the context behind it. On Starter:

> ETH just triggered an alert. What changed in its price, social activity and news over the last day?

The assistant pulls the same data the alert was based on, for the assets you hold.

Custom alerts start on Starter ($7 a month) and AI alerts on Standard ($11 a month). Free users can see what alerts include from the bell. [See plans](https://sonarfolio.com/pricing).
