A Kubera alternative for your investment portfolio
Kubera is a full balance sheet for complex wealth. If what you need to follow is crypto, stocks and ETFs, Sonar covers them with a free plan, social data on your holdings and read-only connections.
Updated October 27, 2026
Kubera calls itself a balance sheet: everything you own and owe on one page, from brokerage accounts and crypto to real estate, private investments and loans. It's a serious tool for people with complex finances. Sonar does something narrower. It tracks your investments, crypto, stocks, ETFs and cash, and puts market context next to each one. Which one fits depends on what you need to see.
What Kubera does well
- Everything you own and owe. Stocks and funds on major exchanges in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and Asia; crypto, DeFi and NFTs; private investments with calls, distributions and IRR; real estate, vehicles, gold and collectibles; and liabilities.
- Banks and brokerages worldwide. Kubera runs several aggregators and picks one per institution, with a web sync fallback for institutions that don't connect.
- Planning for the people after you. Its Dead Man's Switch shares your portfolio with beneficiaries you choose if you stop checking in.
- Multi-entity wealth. The Black plan adds ownership tags across people, trusts and companies.
- AI agents. Kubera says it works with Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants.
Kubera suits families and individuals with wealth spread across many asset types, entities and countries, for whom $250 a year (Essentials), $2,500 (Black) or $10,000 (VIP) is worth a complete balance sheet.
Where Sonar is different
- A free plan and a lower price. Kubera has a 14-day trial and no free plan. Sonar is free to start, with Starter at $7 a month, Standard at $11 and Premium at $20 ($72, $120 and $192 a year).
- Built around investments. Sonar tracks coins, stocks, ETFs and cash. That focus brings market context Kubera doesn't list: on Starter, every stock and coin you hold shows mentions, engagement, sentiment, social dominance, discussion themes, top creators and news.
- Onchain activity for your coins. On Standard, the coins you hold show holders, transfers, supply concentration and network activity.
- AI access on every paid plan. Sonar's MCP connector works with Claude and ChatGPT, alongside a REST API and a command-line tool. Starter gives assistants market and social data on your holdings; Standard adds your holdings, P&L and allocation.
- Read-only connections. Wallets connect by public address, and US brokerages and crypto exchanges connect through Plaid on Starter, Standard and Premium for investment data only; Sonar never asks for exchange API keys. See security.

When Kubera is the better choice
- You want real estate, vehicles, private funds or loans in your net worth. Sonar doesn't track them.
- Your banks and brokerages are outside the US. Sonar's brokerage connections cover US institutions; elsewhere you'd import a file.
- You manage wealth across trusts, companies or family members.
- You want beneficiaries to receive your portfolio if something happens to you.
When Sonar fits better
- Your net worth is mostly crypto and listed stocks and ETFs, and you want those tracked closely.
- You want to see what the market is saying about each holding.
- You'd rather start free and pay $7 or $11 a month than $250 a year.
- You want your portfolio in Claude, ChatGPT, a script or a terminal. See pricing.
How to switch from Kubera
- Export from Kubera. Export your portfolio as a spreadsheet (CSV).
- Import into Sonar. Sonar has a Kubera preset. Rows with a ticker and quantity become holdings; the rest, such as property or loans, are skipped and listed so you know what was left out. See importing a CSV.
- Connect accounts. Add wallet addresses, or on Starter, Standard and Premium a US brokerage or crypto exchange through Plaid, so balances keep themselves up to date.
