A Delta alternative for crypto and stock investors

Delta tracks crypto, stocks and more in a polished mobile app. Sonar covers coins, stocks and ETFs on the web, with social data on every holding and access from Claude or ChatGPT.

Delta is a long-running investment tracker, now listed in the App Store as "Delta by eToro". It tracks crypto, stocks, ETFs, forex and commodities, and syncs with exchanges, brokers and wallets. If you are weighing it against Sonar, the two overlap on the basics and differ on what sits around them. Here is a fair comparison.

What Delta does well

  • Many asset types. Delta lists stocks and ETFs, crypto, forex and commodities in one app.
  • Mobile first. Delta is built around its iPhone and Android apps, and its support center describes desktop and web versions too.
  • eToro sync. eToro's own page says Delta syncs with an existing eToro account.
  • A free tier. Delta Basic is free for up to 10 tracked assets, with price alerts and basic analytics.
  • Insights on paid plans. PRO and PRO+ add asset analytics, "Why is it moving" updates, insider trades and Delta AI.

Delta suits investors who want a phone-first tracker, especially eToro users, and who don't mind an asset cap on the free plan.

Where Sonar is different

  • No cap on tracked assets. Sonar's plans limit connected accounts, not how many assets you hold. Delta Basic tracks up to 10 assets and PRO up to 40, according to its App Store listing.
  • Social data next to every holding. On Starter, each stock and coin you hold shows mentions, engagement, sentiment, social dominance, discussion themes, top creators and news.
  • Onchain activity for your coins. On Standard, the coins you hold show holders, transfers, supply concentration and network activity.
  • Your portfolio in your AI tools. Connect Sonar to Claude or ChatGPT through its MCP connector, or use the REST API and the command-line tool. Ask "Which of my holdings moved the most over the last 24 hours?" and get an answer from your own numbers.
  • Read-only connections. Wallets connect by public address, and US brokerages and crypto exchanges connect through Plaid on Starter, Standard and Premium for investment data only; Sonar never asks for exchange API keys. See security.

When Delta is the better choice

  • You want a native phone app today. Sonar runs in the browser; its apps are coming soon.
  • You track forex or commodities. Sonar covers coins, stocks, ETFs and cash.
  • You use eToro and want it synced directly.
  • You hold assets on exchanges or brokers that Sonar doesn't connect, and you'd rather not import a file.

When Sonar fits better

  • You hold more than a handful of assets and want them all tracked without an asset cap.
  • You want the market conversation about your holdings in the same place as your positions.
  • You want to ask Claude or ChatGPT about your portfolio, or reach it from a script.
  • You want a straightforward price: Starter is $7 a month and Standard is $11. See pricing.

How to switch from Delta

  1. Export from Delta. In Delta's settings, find the option to export your data and save your transactions as CSV.
  2. Import into Sonar. Sonar has a Delta preset, so the columns are matched for you. Your history is replayed into today's holdings at average cost, and the portfolio chart goes back to your first trade. See importing a CSV.
  3. Connect accounts for ongoing updates. Add a wallet address, or on Starter, Standard and Premium a US brokerage or crypto exchange through Plaid, so new activity syncs on its own.

Positions Sonar can't match to an asset are kept and flagged, not dropped. Try the sample portfolio before you sign up.
